Smart Signals – Intelligent Traffic Management
Ahmedabad commuters were wasting hours at poorly-timed traffic lights—empty intersections stayed green while busy ones caused gridlock. I led a team to build adaptive signals using camera detection, cutting wait times by 30%. The government awarded us ₹2L to scale the prototype, validating both the technical approach and real-world impact.

BEST e-Ticketing & Geolocation Module – Enhancing Transit Reliability
Mumbai’s bus network suffered from ticketing inefficiencies and lack of accurate location tracking. As an intern at CDAC, I built a high-precision geolocation and distance calculation module and helped index 40,000+ transit points, foundational to real-time e-ticketing.
Today, the system I contributed to supports BEST’s electronic ticketing machines (serving AC and high-density routes), which bring in ₹22 lakh in daily revenue. Digital adoption is growing rapidly: 47% of Mumbai bus commuters now use apps to plan or book, and the BEST live-tracking app has over 6 million downloads.
